In 2017, Desert Snow brought an unexpected winter experience to La Mer, Dubai’s beachfront lifestyle destination.
Commissioned to create a family-friendly outdoor Snow Fight Zone, Desert Snow installed a fully themed snow-play environment directly on the waterfront — a striking contrast that became one of the destination’s most memorable seasonal moments.
Built for high visitor throughput, the attraction used durable materials, soft throwable snowballs and scenic snow dressing to deliver a safe and engaging winter play experience in an outdoor coastal setting.
Design and Delivery
The Snow Fight Zone was designed to operate safely in outdoor conditions, with UV-stable scenic materials, soft polyester snowballs, and surface-safe snow dressing suitable for La Mer’s wooden boardwalks.
Desert Snow managed full layout planning, guest flow, safety zoning and scenic design, ensuring that the winter play experience complemented the destination’s coastal aesthetic.
As a high-traffic attraction, the zone was engineered for durability, fast resets, and continuous safe operation throughout the activation period.
